This mutation of Psilocybe natalensis produces dramatically less spores than normal, so the gills typically remain a creamy white color. There is also no heavy spore dump to dirty up the environment.
Due to a misidentification many spores of a species named Psilocybe ochraceocentrata/.aff natalensis were mistakenly distributed into the community under the name Ps natalensis. Nobody has actually been growing Ps natalensis for the past few years, we've all been growing Ps ochraceocentrata. After almost 3 years of searching, Yoshi was able to acquire genetic material straight from Southern Africa of the real Ps natalensis and fruit it. To our knowledge these spores are from the very first documented fruiting of true Psilocybe natalensis anywhere in the world, outside of South Africa!!
