Psilocybe subtropicalis HVC x Tres Soles #2 is a "locality cross" from Julian Mattucci. He used spores collected by Yoshi in Mexico and also from the "hoogshagenii var convexa" lineage, an old line that tracks all the way back to Heim. Julian isolated monokaryons, and paired them to produce this beautiful subtropicalis! These new "locality crosses" seem to outperform all of the parent constituents in terms of speed and tenacity to produce fruit. We look forward to exploring this concept further to see what might come of it! These spores were collected from the fruiting of the F1 offspring. We have multiple F1 selections that have produced quite varied expressions.
